about

This time one cannot consider this an improvisation anymore, spending roughly 8 hours on this one. Spread over two days.

Inspiration comes from a Saturday walk through a relatively nearby forest in southern Bavaria in mid October. The air was clear and fresh, the inhabitants of the forest energized and lively. On the brink of fully turning into an autumn scene.

Musically it had an influence from a Japanese tv drama I had recently been watching: Pension Metsa. Where I could not get the beautiful main theme song out of my head, 空飛び猫 by Schroeder-Headz with vocals from Taeko Onuki.
So the beginning basically follows the same chord progressions. Moving downwards quint by quint starting with E flat major.
But the melody is changed of course.

I still have the feeling that I only use 5% of what Ableton live has to offer, but I must admit, that I could move on relatively fast this time. It was fun to orchestrate with the given tools :)
A side observation is that my pc is clearly overwhelmed with that convolutional reverb, that took the impulse response of Ely Hall.

The end result is not experimental and acoustically ambitions but very pleasant.
Fine for me. For sure would fit into a tv drama ^^
Hope you like it! An 8 minute soundtrack for your personal slice-of-life drama then :)
