about

This is a soundtrack for a documentary film by Journalist Fritz Schumann (as of 13.02.2021 not yet openly published - a book is also work in progress).

It tells the story about Okunoshima. A small Island near Hiroshima, Japan, mainly known for an abundance of rabbits. Less known is the role it played in the 2nd world war as a, then secret, development facility for poison gas.

The music captures atmospheres, sounds and themes of places and people related to the Island and its darker part of its legacy.
Old ruins, memories, regret and the admirable dedication to remember, warn and educate.

Improvised and arranged on a couple of weekends in June and October 2019.
